One of the current weight loss fads is BHB (beta-hydroxybutyrate) keto tablets. Currently, my inbox is being bombarded by companies wanting Bio Body to stock versions of it - the most famous was the brand Keto Complete that got the backing of the five sharks on Shark Tank.
BHB is unquestionably an important amino acid that the body produces and there is scientific evidence to support its role in keeping us leaner and helping with anti-aging. However, we don't need supplements. When our body is in calorie shortfall and we're not eating carbohydrates, the body naturally produces more BHB.
Dawn French's weight loss was incorrectly attributed to taking a BHB supplement. Whereas, it was the activities she did that will have stimulated BHB production in her own body that will have helped her journey.
(The following article talks about how she actually did it: "Dawn French opens up about her weight loss journey after returning to iconic hairstyle". As an aside, part of me is mightily amused that we can't talk about women's weight loss without also commenting on something else physical about them. In Dawn's case it's not a bikini commentary! But I digress...)
BHB is produced by our own bodies, and taking extra quantities of it isn't necessary and can often have unpleasant side effects, including disrupted sleep and digestive challenges. Also, there is no measurable value in taking BHB supplementation if you aren't RIGOROUSLY following a programme designed to keep you in ketosis.
Our body naturally produces more BHB when we're in a calorie shortfall and eating fewer carbs - which is exactly the conditions created when you're on the Bio Body Ideal Weight and Weight and Wellness Fast Track Ten programmes, which is one of the reasons why the Bio Body programmes work so well.
And once you've finished a Bio Body programme, you can then eat more of the foods that naturally cause the body to produce BHB, which include: Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oils, zucchini, asparagus, brocolli, almonds, macadamia nuts, cashews, walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseeds, herbs, spices, vinegars and mustards. That way, you can continue to enjoy the weight loss and anti-aging properties that your body producing BHB can continue to offer.
